Technology had changed the way we work at offices and lead our lives in homes.
Not to mention, today technology has been changing at a faster rate than ever before in the history of mankind.
2017 was one big year where tech giants like Tesla, Samsung, Google and much more came out with mind-boggling technological innovations.
We saw Tesla building world’s largest battery and the fastest car. Then Samsung launched QuantumLED TV, which showcased Samsung’s ability to invent stuff.
Google took artificial intelligence to next level by capturing portrait photos without using dual cameras.
All these happened in 2017.But talking about all these technologies is too old school.
So, let’s upgrade and have a look at amazing future technologies that are expected to launch in 2018.
As said by gartner.com Technology trends in 2018 will basically focus on 3 fields as shown in the above picture.
Now let’s directly jump in and discover what’s waiting for us in 2018.
Amazing Future Technologies Which Are Coming This 2018
Let’s start with the memory sector now and you won’t believe this:
1.Enterprise levels will start using SSD’s of 128TB
Solid state drives (SSDs) have recently begun to overtake old spinning drives in terms of storage capacity.
The largest of the enterprise-grade models are now reaching 128TB of capacity, with conventional HDDs lagging further behind.
The demand for consumer versions is being driven by rapid growth in 4K video adoption, enormous video game file sizes, and other data-hungry applications.
2.HP launching single-memory-computers which can handle 160TB of data.
Hewlett-Packard had developed an amazing computing technology,…
…which could replace a data center’s worth of equipment with a single refrigerator-size machine and can process the data in the order of few 100TB.
It’s basically a brand-new type of computer architecture that HP’s engineers say will serve as a replacement for today’s designs,
with a new operating system, a different type of memory, and superfast data transfer.
3.A 10Gbps Wi-Fi will be available at 5GHz frequency bands.
Huawei boasted that it successfully achieved the first 10Gbps WiFi service on its campus in Shenzen,…
…since it began looking at the 802.11ax standardization in 2010, with the prototype achieving a record data rate of 10.53Gbps on the 5GHz frequency band.
Thanks to this successful trial, Huawei will aim to make 10Gbps WiFi commercially available by 2018,…
…” pending the agreement of global standards requirements and sufficient chipset availability”.
4.World’s first Hyperloop will open for public.
You could be traveling at just under the speed of sound in 2018 via the Hyperloop, the transportation brainchild of Tesla boss Elon Musk.
Hyperloop aims at transporting passengers in capsules which would be propelled by magnets at a speed of 750mph.
This track will not be going from one city to another, however. They will be constructed in a place called Quay Valley.
5.USB cables with 100Gbit/s transfer speed.
A new USB cable known as “Thunderbolt” had come to the market and this replaced the Universal Serial Bus (USB).
The USB 3.0 specification allowed transfer speeds of 4.8 Gbit/s. An early version of Thunderbolt achieved 10 Gbit/s. This latest version, however, can achieve 100 Gbit/s.
These USB cables can transfer a full-length blue-ray movie in just 3 seconds.
Although there are a ton of future technologies that are to be unveiled in 2018, I have tried listing most out important ones.
